Hageler is partner in the firm’s group for EU, EEA and competition law. Hageler is a specialist within Norwegian and European competition law, state aid law and EU/EEA-law. He has extensive experience in assisting with merger procedures, infringement cases as well as cases involving access to market.
Hageler assists private companies as well as public authorities and entities with advice relating to EU/EEA law and competition law issues, as well as risk analysis related to merger proceedings before the competition authorities. Hageler represents clients vis-à-vis competition - and surveillance authorities in Norway and Europe. Such assistance includes notification of state aid, handling of merger notifications and procedures as well as litigation before courts and arbitral tribunals.
Hageler place emphasis on assisting both small and large companies in an effective and result-oriented manner, utilizing both the possibilities and limitations created by the applicable competition rules to the benefit of the client.
Hageler is rated in international publications as one of Norway’s legal experts in competition law and EU/EEA law, and has published a number of articles on competition law and EU/EEA law issues. Hageler has a L.LM in European law from the Humboldt University in Berlin, in which he focused on competition law and state aid law.
