Collaborating with the Norwegian Cancer Society

SANDS is a strategic partner of the Norwegian Cancer Society. Through this collaboration, we contribute with legal assistance, including pro bono work.

- Cancer is not something we can treat with indifference—it affects all of us, directly or indirectly. Combating cancer is an important societal responsibility and can be life‑saving for individuals. As lawyers, it is our fundamental duty to uphold justice and prevent injustice. In many cases our assignments involve finding fair and correct solutions in terms of financial liability. However, working with cancer goes far beyond that—it gives our work an entirely different dimension. As a socially engaged firm, SANDS is extremely grateful that, through our partnership with the Norwegian Cancer Society, we can contribute to this vital cause, in hopes of making a difference. With the aim that fewer people will get cancer in the future, and that those affected will be better supported,” says Hege Ersdal, partner at SANDS and our contact person for the Norwegian Cancer Society.

- Pro bono work is a central element of the agreement and emphasizes that this partnership is becoming an integrated and important part of our work in corporate social responsibility. Our legal expertise covers a wide range of practice areas, and we are well equipped to meet the needs of the Norwegian Cancer Society. This collaboration allows us to apply our expertise to support a cause that means so much to so many,” says Eirik Vitsø Kjørsvik, Head of Business Development at SANDS.
