Alf Johan Knag heads the firm’s national Construction Group, and is also member of the board. He has specialised within Contract Law for the Construction business.

Knag has substantial experience advising parties concerning major construction projects, acting for a large number of the most important parties in the business.

He advises his clients throughout the legal process from risk analyses and preparing contracts, thru executing projects, to final settlement and litigation.
Knag is a very experienced lecturer for the Construction business. Since 2002, he has been a permanent course leader for the Constructor’s Association within Contract Law. He has also been leading the Construction Law Association of Bergen for a decade.

Knag has handled a considerable number of cases in the courts. He is a permanent lecturer to the compulsory Bar Exam training courses on “Civil procedure” and “Examination of parties and witnesses”, in addition to litigation seminars performed by The Lawyers Education Centre.

Knag is also working with property development, purchase/sale, building and regulatory, and public procurement. He also assists private parties in gaining the approval of public authorities for their real estate projects.

Knag is the author of several articles within Construction Law, for example in the commemorative volume “På Rett Grunn” (2010). Knag is recommended in the European edition of Legal 500 (2011).

Knag has earlier worked in the law firms DLA Piper (2002-2008) and Føyen & co (2000-2002). He is a mediator with approval from the Norwegian Bar Association.
