Thomas Sando is Head of the firm’s group for EU, EEA and competition law. Sando is a Master of Laws in International and European Legal Studies, with Distinction, from the University of Durham in United Kingdom. Sando is specialized in competition law, and assists large and medium-sized Norwegian and foreign companies in different industries, within all fields of competition law.
Sando has previously worked for the Norwegian Competition Authority and for the law firm Thommessen. Sando regularly assists companies with strategic and legal advice concerning acquisitions and mergers, in merger control procedures before the competition authorities, in issues related to cooperation between competitors, establishment of joint ventures, supply- and purchase agreements, distribution agreements, franchise agreements, agent agreements or similar agreements which may affect the competition in the markets, as well as issues concerning abuse of dominant position.
Sando has extensive experience in advising and assisting in investigations from the competition authorities, including inspections/dawn raids and leniency procedures, training of companies and employees and compliance issues. Sando has published several articles within the field of competition law, and he is recommended within competition law in e.g. Chambers, Legal 500 and Best Lawyers Norway.
