With Compliance catalyst/Orbis, we can effectively find relevant and available information about several millions of global companies’ owners, ownership structures, accounts, board members and management. This is information which, among other things, can reveal important information on whether there is a risk associated with a person and/or company.
We often offer our clients assistance in finding relevant and available information about people and companies. The tool Compliance catalyst/Orbis is used in our work with these background checks, where we can, among other things, find out companies’ ultimate owners, ownership structures, accounts, board members and the company’s management. The one tool that we use in our work gives us, among other things, access to approx. 432 million companies worldwide. This is information which, among other things, can reveal whether there is a risk associated with a person and/or company, which can be important information to have control over in connection with, for example:
- transactions,
- when entering into collaborations with third parties (JV, suppliers, agents or other third parties),
- when assessing risks associated with the supply chain (the Accounting Act, the Transparency Act, etc.),
- when assessing sanctions and export controls,
- in the case of employment, and
- all other situations where it is desirable to uncover risks linked to persons and/or companies.
The screening also includes searches in the media, with a particular focus on negative news/information about people and/or companies (Adverse media). The database collects global adverse media stories from more than 120,000 reliable sources and profiles and the database shows relevant negative news across 50+ risk categories.
